Built by people who've done this work for years

Direction Recovery was built in Huntington, West Virginia by people who have spent years behind the scenes of medication-assisted treatment. We built the program we kept wishing existed.

Our story

Direction Recovery was founded in Huntington, West Virginia by S. Arora, who has spent nearly a decade inside medication-assisted treatment programs across West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky, working in billing and credentialing for MAT, behavioral health, primary care, and toxicology practices.

Working the back office of dozens of Suboxone programs shows you things patients never see: the intake calendars with a three-week wait, the Medicaid renewals that lapse mid-treatment, the prior authorizations that hold up a prescription, the audits that follow sloppy documentation. And it shows you the pattern underneath, which is that most people who ask for help don't get it fast enough, and the ones who do are often treated like a liability instead of a person.

Direction Recovery is the program built to fix that. Same-day video visits. A prescription at the pharmacy before the call ends. Insurance handled by people who actually understand it. Counseling and support that fit around work and family. And a team that treats a slip as a reason to talk, not a reason to discharge.

Our mission

Everyone who wants treatment for opioid addiction should get it the same week they ask, from people who treat them with respect.

What we believe

  • Speed saves lives. Cravings don't wait for an intake slot. Neither do we.
  • Medication works. Buprenorphine cuts overdose deaths roughly in half. It's the foundation, not a crutch.
  • Slips aren't failures. A positive screen starts a conversation, not a discharge.
  • Recovery is more than not using. Rides, housing, jobs, and court dates are part of the treatment plan.
  • Local matters. We're from here. We know the pharmacies, the courts, and the Medicaid plans.
